Printing 1096 Form:
- In Software, click on Print Forms tab from Top Menu and select Print Tax Forms
- Click on drop down arrow under Payer/Company and select your Payer
- Click on drop down arrow under Tax Form and select your 1099 Form
NOTE: The Recipients Name MUST be in the bottom box titled "Recipients/Payees with Forms Printed" in order to print a 1096.
- Here you will see a check box marked 1096
- Click the 1096 check box
- From here you will need to select the recipients you wish to print, then click View or Print at the bottom of the print menu box.

The official printed version of the IRS form uses a special type of red drop out ink called "OCR" Optical Character Recognition when the IRS scans the forms it will only read the data. All data is printed in black ink such as dollar amount, address, etc.
On the IRS website the official printed version of these IRS form is scannable, but a copy, printed from this website, is not. Do not print and file any Forms downloaded from this website; a penalty may be imposed for filing with the IRS information return forms that can't be scanned
