During installation our software will automatically check for updates but at times your antivirus could block our site preventing you from getting the latest software release. If you are getting a message in the software (E-File or Printing available in the next release) it could be your software is not up to date.
If you are having issues updating Laser Link, TaxRight, TFP or ACA software you are able to go directly to the software update web page and Manually download from there: (We recommend to temporarily disable any antivirus/firewall prior to running the software update & re-start your computer after completing software update)
No Internet Connection? You will need to download the update to a USB flash drive using a computer connected to the internet.
Please review the information below & you will then use one of the two methods described.
Here are two different methods on how to update your software:

When you select a software update link below you will be re-directed to web page that will show the release you should be on & the link to download update - example: TaxRight Release 24.1.2.0 and/or LaserLink Release 24.1.2.0
- Select the link to download update & access your Microsoft Windows download folder to run the software update. (This process is called Manually Updating)
OR
- Open your software under the Utilities tab select Check for Updates,
Note: 2020 Software & Prior Years - you will need to manually update using the link below "Prior Year Updates"
Please be aware there is no way to upgrade the software to next tax year version of the software. Example: Laser Link 2023 to Laser Link 2024 or TaxRight 2023 to TaxRight 2024. So in order to have the most recent version of the software you will need to purchase the latest software version.
How do I verify my software updated?
To verify your software updated - Under the Help tab - select the "About (software name) for 20## to see the software Release version: 24.1.2.0
Here's how to identify the release you are on: Example LaserLink 2024 release 24.1.2.0 your software will start with the tax year (24.1.0.0 release v24.1.2.0 ). When we have an update the 1.0.0 will change to the next release available.
