Our E-file Site has an enhanced validation where the E-file system will check the information in the E-file site and the information that is being uploaded from the software.
If there are any discrepancies in the Name such as: incorrect spelling, commas, period, address, etc., this will create a duplicate. To avoid this you will need to correct the information in the software or log into your E-File account and update the information.
NOTE: It is very important to review ALL notifications on E-File Site prior to placing order and checking out on E-File Site to ensure you are not filing duplicate forms which need to be deleted.
E-File Site Duplicate Payer notification message:
In addition, if a Payer has different name but same TIN, will also generate Duplicate.
You will notice a "Duplicates" message on E-File Site for your account and select "Review". You will proceed to make any needed changes.
