This article will provide useful information regarding E-Delivery in which recipients receive their Tax Form Recipient Copy electronically. These copies can be physically mailed or electronically delivered however payer MUST provide email address for Recipient prior to placing order and Filing Tax Form(s). Please See > Add-Email-for-E-Delivery
NOTE: Not available when e-filing through the software - for this option the E-File account owner would need to update all the recipients information on the efile site.
Efile Only - Select E-File only to have your form(s) e-filed to the IRS and/or SSA. Copies will NOT be sent to your recipients. You are responsible for making sure recipients receive their copies.
Print and Mail - Select Print & Mail only to have your form(s) mailed to your recipients. NO FORMS will be e-filed to the IRS. Also, IRS copies are NOT available for print. You will need to submit forms to the IRS yourself.
Recipients/Payees will have a few days after we send an e-mail to OPT-IN so that they may receive copy of the Tax Form E-Delivered. If you do not OPT-IN within a few days then the recipient Tax Form copy will be printed and mailed.
The only exception would be when it is close to the deadline in which the forms must be printed and mailed before the deadline. In this case we will send out the paper copy even if the recipient/payee OPT-IN or Not. Once you OPT-IN you will not be able to make change back to paper copy.
Recipient/Payee Log In and E-Delivery:
Recipient/Payee will receive E-Mail from us to log in and select either downloadable copy or mailed Paper Copy. Recipient/Payee will have to go through a verification process by entering in their E-Mail and Last 4 of Tax ID, in order to create a Password. Next Recipient will then Log into Portal and download a copy of Tax Form as needed. If unable to Log In Recipient will need to contact Payer to get their Tax Form(s) sent to them.
Common Log In issues:
- Recipient Entering TIN (Tax Identification Number) at Log In screen that does not match TIN the Payer used & saved for Recipient when filing Recipient Tax Form(s).
- Recipient Entering alternate E-Mail at Log In screen then the Email Payer provided & saved for Recipient when filing Recipient Tax Form(s).
NOTE: For individuals the SSN (Social Security Number) serves as the TIN. For more details please see > Taxpayer-identification-numbers-tin
We are not able to send PDF Copies by email per request. Recipient will need to go through this registration process for E-Delivery. If not able to complete this process then must await to receive Mailed Copy. If a Recipient Copy is required immediately then Recipient must please contact Payer directly.
