How To Efile - Run as Administrator

When you E-file from the Laser Link, TaxRight or ACA software and your forms are not making it to the e-file site it could be your firewall and/or antivirus is blocking our site & will need to update your Internet Security Trusted Site along with Running software as Administrator.

*If you are still not able to E-File please follow the steps below - Run as an Administrator*

 

  How to E-File (Run as Administrator):

  1. Log out of your account on the website
  2. Close the browser
  3. Close the Laser Link/TaxRight or ACA software. 
  4. On your desktop "Right Click" the Laser Link/TaxRight or ACA software "Icon"
  5. Run as Administrator this will open your software
  6. Select E-file "E-file My Forms" log in using your email and password
  7. Select Single Payer and Form Type (if your Recipients are under Recipients E-filed you will need to reset & move them back to Select Recipients to E-file) How to Reset Recipients and E-file Again
  8. The e-file site will open "Review Your Imported Forms" click Save All Forms this will move them to Forms in Progress.
  9. Forms in Progress > Review your forms > Select Form > Select Filing Option: E-File Only
  10. Add To Cart > Proceed to Checkout
  11. Enter Credit Card information and submit/place order  (NOTE: E-File is not complete until you place & submit your order) 

Note: If filing multiple times you (MUST log out the E-File site if it is open)

If you did not close the e-file site and your getting "It looks like you're lost..." please follow below steps:

1. Click on - Go Back button

2. Log into your account

3. Click Notification Bell

4. Select Notification - This will open the Review Imported Forms & now Save All Forms 

5. Your forms are now under Forms in Progress

Note: If No forms imported -  you will need to manually import following the step below:

How to manually import your forms from the software to your e-file site:

Log into your E-File account
E-File your 1099/W2 this will create an excel worksheet (you will need to do this to manually upload)

  1. Log into e-file account - You can find this in your software under you Help > About TaxRight for 20## /Laser Link for 20## or ACA for 20##
  2. Software > Select the Link
  3. Log in using your email and password
  4. Select Dashboard
  5. Import My Forms > View Import Options
  6. Select File to Import (arrow up)
  7. Browse to: C:\Program Files (x86)\TaxRight for 20## /Laser Link for 20## or ACA for 20##\E-file
  8. Select the 1099/W2 or 1095 file (excel spreadsheet)
  9. This will bring you back to your e-file site
  10. Select Import Data - this will import your 1099/W2 or 1095 "Review Your Imported Forms"
  11. Save All Forms > system will show a spinning wheel, if takes too long F5 to refresh your screen
  12. Forms in Progress > Select Form > Select Filing Option: E-File Only
  13. Add to Cart > Proceed to Checkout
  14. Credit Card information and submit - Close the E-file site if filling multiple forms 

Note: If filing multiple times you (MUST log out the E-File site if it is open)

Repeat for each new upload - E-file through the software to create the 1099/W2 or 1095 excel worksheet (you will need to do this for each upload) the system will override the previous upload

Note: If you are still not able to import your forms manually, this is caused from your firewall blocking our site you will need to contact your IT on how to allow our site or use a computer not on your network

 

Error Messages: If you are getting an error message when you E-file you should run the software as an Administrator - see instructions below:

Error > "Cannot collect tax data. Please log in and try again." or "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" to E-file you need to have 8 GB RAM 

A workaround solution is close apps (and End Task) which are not in use. Then E-file again. 

Error > "The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding character, or an illegal character among the padding character."

Run Software as Admin:

1. Right Click the Software icon (Taxright 20XX, Laserlink 20XX, ACA 20XX) on computer desktop & Select Run as Administrator. (Note: If you're prompted for an administrator password you will need to contact your IT Admin as this is not originating from the software)
